Fat Tax

New York State Health Commissioner Richard Daines has become the point man for one of the more controversial of Gov. David Paterson's revenue-generating budget proposals: The so-called "fat tax" - an 18 percent levy on sugary drinks like non-diet soda.

That's not much of a fat tax... how about charging everybody by the pound for public transportation? Now that would be a real fat tax. Some obese cow that weighs 400+ pounds takes a lot more energy to move around. And they usually demand two seats, which have to be over-engineered in order to support all that excess mass, so little miss "I'm pretty inside" doesn't sue the city when she crashes through a normal chair.

Wal-Mart provides free motorized wheel chairs for the disabled for use in all their stores, a very generous gesture. But take a closer look next time you go to a Wal-Mart... you'll see most of those motorized conveyances being used by grossly overweight broads literally too fat to walk.

It's a real sight to see some female with her huge butt cheeks literally hanging down over both sides of the seat on one of those things.

And those wheelchairs are built for people weighing 250 pounds or less(read the caution label on them), so those porkers have broken down or seriously damaged just about every one.

I suppose Wal-Mart will have to provide a more rugged unit for those who consider overeating a lifestyle and a right.

Something with tank treads perhaps.

New Yorks Next Senator? You Know...

Some quotes from Caroline Kennedy's recent comments:
I'm really coming into this as somebody who isn't, you know, part of the system, who obviously, you know, stands for the values of, you know, the Democratic Party.
Three "you knows".
I know how important it is to, you know, to be my own person. And, you know, and that would be obviously true with my relationship with the mayor.
Two more.
Andrew is, you know, highly qualified for this job. He's doing a, you know, a great job as attorney general, and we've spoken throughout this process."
Two more.
You know, I think, you know, we're sort of, uh, sharing some of this experience. And um, as I've said, he was a friend, a family member, and um so, and uh obviously, he's, you know, he's also had an impressive career in public office.
Three more.
It's really, you know, it's not about just the Kennedy name.
Just one?

Score: Eleven "you knows", two "uhs", two "ums".

Not bad, you know, for a potential candidate to um, replace the present Senator... you know, uh, Hillary Clinton.

Oh-Oh

Worried about politics?

How about the ongoing earthquake swarm at Yellowstone?

Yellowstone is the caldera of a "super volcano", one that has erupted on a roughly 600,000 year cycle, with its last eruption being some 640,000 years ago, so another eruption is most likely due.

If it goes, it will make a man-made nuclear winter look like spring break. This bit from the Discovery Channel website:
The crater atop Mount St. Helens is about 2 square miles. The Yellowstone "caldera" — a depression in the Earth equivalent to a crater top — is some 1,500 square miles.

The 1980 Mount St. Helens eruption blew 1,300 vertical feet off the mountain, sent an eruption column 80,000 feet high in 15 minutes, ejected 1.4 billion cubic yards of ash detectable over 22,000 square miles, and killed 57 people.

But the last major eruption at Yellowstone, some 640,000 years ago, ejected 8,000 times the ash and lava of Mount St. Helens.
Obama may be in for a hell of a lot more than he ever bargained for.

The Smell Of Rats Is Everywhere

Sen. Harry Reid, the Nevada Democratic Leader of the House, is already worried about his own re-election fight in 2010. So...
Sen. Reid traveled to the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico late last month to meet with campaign contributors. A spokesman for Sen. Reid said he expects to have $3 million in his campaign account at the end of the year, up from about $2.75 million on Oct. 1. Sen. Reid spent $7 million in his 2004 race.
Let's pick at the scab on this bit of information.

He went to the Virgin Islands to meet with contributors. Such an offshore stunt provides privacy and anonymity for the "contributors", all of which can afford the time and money for their "Let's buy us a Senator" jaunt to the Islands.

The smell of rat feces is everywhere.

Two Democratic Senate buddies, South Dakota's Tim Johnson and Oregon's Jeff Merkley, have sent emails to their supporters seeking contributions to Sen. Reid's campaign.

Can you dig it? Two Senators, one from Oregon and the other from South Dakota, are begging money from their constituents to help an endangered Senator from Nevada.

Lots of itty-bitty rat tracks in the desert sands.

Who might run against Virgin Island Harry?
Nevada's Republican lieutenant governor, Brian Krolicki, declared his candidacy last month but was subsequently indicted for suspect accounting practices during his time as state treasurer.
The sewer rats have made plain their upcoming game plan... anyone who intends to run against one of the Light Bringer's team members will face accusations of everything from cooking the books to child molestation.

It's going to be a great election cycle, full of charges and counter-charges. Stories will get juicier, charges will get nastier, lawyers will get richer.

Expect stuff something like this:
California Republican Governor Arnold Swartzenegger announced he intends to run for president and was immediately accused by prominent Democrats of spreading AIDS amongst illegal immigrant homosexual quadriplegics in Los Angeles...AND San Francisco... and in your home town elementary schools.
American politics... Already at the bottom and digging even deeper.

One final scurrilous comment:

I'll wager that there was not one single virgin - male of female - anywheres near that gaggle of Virgin Island contributors... at least not for very long.

Male or female? Don't forget that Rep. Barney Franks - another rat in the pack - just came out of the closet and announced his fondness for man-on-man sex.

"Fodder For The Bigots"

More name calling...

The case is "fodder for the bigots," Abraham H. Foxman, the ADL's national director, said in an interview this week with The Associated Press. "It's both embarrassing and it's painful."

He's referring to the Ponzi scheme that has just sent many once incredibly rich Jews to the poorhouse.

And in case you are wondering , anybody who can afford to "invest" over a billion dollars of their own money IS incredibly rich, and you gotta wonder how they got it all.

Foxman is the same ADL dude that started up the boringly predictable "Anti-Semite" drumbeat the instant it became public knowledge that many of America's incredibly rich Jews lost billions and billions of dollars in this "affinity fraud" scheme, a scheme hatched by yet another influential and incredibly rich Wall Street Jew.

Same old story... as soon as some negative news comes out about Jews and money, out comes the "Anti-Semite", Bigot and Jew-Hater" stuff to re-direct attention from the real issue, which remains the reality that Jews have far more influence, power and control of America's finances and policies than they should have.

The Jews - of course - like to keep it a big secret amongst themselves, so when a bit of information about their excessive power and enormous wealth sees the light of day, The Abe Foxman's of the world start up with their predictable response to ridicule the idea and shout down and silence the news breakers.

So, while you are trying to figure out how to pay next month's mortgage and still put food on the table and a few bucks into savings, Jews who lost a billion dollars or so to this scam go commit suicide rather than trying to live on Social Security, or face the humiliation of having to go work with the common folk in a factory somewhere full of illegals, something that "Gods Chosen People" are just not cut out to do.

Reporting the facts of this debacle is not bigoted or proof of Anti-Semitism, but it does do what the Jews do not want... it attracts unwelcome attention to their activities.

So crank it out Foxman, accuse everybody who talks about this of anything you can think of that sounds disgusting or embarrassing. "Anti-Semite" is always good, It's a reliable old standby... "Bigot" is actually incorrect, but it sounds really nasty... And "Jew-hater" is always good for a few additional miles.

Notice how Foxman is not discussing any of the facts about this giant fraud, the amount of money involved, the perpetrator or the victims(If you can call billionaires victims). Instead, he's accusing those who are bringing it up of all manner of racial and ethnic nastiness.

Ever wonder why the Jews in America need to have something like the ADL?

Foxman's conduct - and the reason for it - is a good clue.

Enjoy This Christmas... Then Hang On

Robert Bartos over at Shrapnel pretty well sums it up:
Christmas is a time for gift giving. The biggest gift to America this holiday season is that the aggressively foolish GW Bush rule is finally finishing its catastrophic eight-year term in office.

Apart from this pending good news of his imminent departure, his other gifts constitute socks filled with coal: two wars he started and could not win; US economic structure in collapse; international reputation for torturing captives; inability to organize for natural disasters; failure to protect national borders from illegal trespassing; continued massive dependence on foreign oil; a foreign policy dominated by Israeli interests; and an expansion of international terror.
At least he didn't burn down the White House.

What we can look forward to is another catastrophic four/eight-year term in office, orchestrated by the one and only light bringer, a man who has mastered the art of saying much and promising all things to all people, whether or not he has the ability to back any of it up.

The roller coaster ride we are about to take may make these few days of celebration a thing of the past for a long time to come.

Enjoy the day, it may be the last for quite awhile, although I think we'll make through Easter before the hammer falls.

The World Would Be Better Off

A twelve-year-old beaten and kidnapped by police... You gotta read this one.

I don't know for certain, but if I was the Father, or Uncle, or Grandfather of that little girl, I think I'd look up those three scumbag cops and remove them from the face of the earth.

It's called "community service".

If you read the article to the bottom, you'll find that the city of Houston decided these three badge-toting losers had been justified in their conduct.

Like hell they were.

A Life Sentence?

In Idaho:
Boise Police arrested 40-year-old Michelle Farley for two counts of sexual battery of a child aged 16 or 17.

Prosecutors say the Borah High psychology teacher admitted to police she had sexual contact with a student, who was 17 at the time.
I always have conflicted feelings on stuff like this. Seventeen-tear-old boys get married by the tens of thousands and have all manner of sex with their wives - whatever their age may be - no big deal.

But have an older woman take on a seventeen-year-old unmarried boy... and out comes the big hammer. It goes without saying that the boy had to be willing, that he was - at the very least - hot to trot.

Take a look at this list of female sexual "predators". There may be a "hottie" or two on the list, but look at most of them. The kid involved with them had to really be wanting to get it on... to even think about having sex with most of these howlers.

Calling a seventeen-year-old boy a "child" seems a bit unrealistic, particularly one that's headed for Iraq or Afghanistan, and a life sentence for a roll in the hay with one seems way too excessive.

You guys know better than to argue the point, but Moms and girlfriends may feel free to raise the roof. Moms have a tendency to believe that their seventeen-year-old is still a babe-in-the-woods innocent, and those teenie girlfriends just can't compete with some older broad that may actually deliver.

Communities and governments have tried to outlaw and legislate non-marital sex for 5,000 years that we know of. You can see how that's worked out.

Is there a better solution? Is anybody actually looking for one? Or are we just going to stick with the "big hammer" approach, and send all those teachers to prison for life?

Job One... Duck And Cover

Now that the Obama team is headed for the White House, the two top dogs are already headed for the bomb shelters.

Vice-President-Elect Joe Biden says the economy is in danger of "absolutely tanking", but hey, it ain't his fault, and President-elect Barak Obama says the recovery will take years, not months, but hey, it ain't his fault either.

For the first time in their political lives, they were speaking the total truth. Were any of you really expecting this dynamic duo to actually do something helpful? They are politicans, not businessmen. Neither one has a clue as to how run a business and make a profit, or how the economy actually works. International trade to them is the process of exchanging a Japanese stock for a German stock.

They can talk, spend trillions of your future dollars, and raise taxes beyond your wildest imaginations. That's about it.

Remember the old saw about digging a hole clear to China? Well guess what... these clowns - along with the SOB's in Congress - will dig a financial hole of debt and obligation so deep it will finally reach China... and you already know who gets tossed into it.

Look forward to it.

Anti-Semitism?

Brettbart.com has some interesting comments on reactions to Bernard Madoff's arrest after his 50 billion dollar Wall Street fraud.

The reality that Madoff is a member of America's powerful Jewish community, that so many of the defrauded investors were wealthy Jews, and that he conned a number of exclusively Jewish charities, has once again shone an unwanted light on the Jews and their concentration around the money and power centers of America, and how this close-knit religious and ethnic minority has great wealth and influence far greater than generally acknowledged or admitted.

Abraham Foxman, ADL national director, said:
Jews are always a convenient scapegoat in times of crisis, but the Madoff scandal and the fact that so many of the defrauded investors are Jewish has created a perfect storm for the anti-Semites.
There's that "anti-Semite" sound bite again. Is it anti-Semite to point out the facts about the people involved in this 50 billion dollar scam? That it was predominately Jews that had the 50 billion to lose in the first place?

Indians own most of the casinos in America and rake in vast amounts of the money lost to gambling. Is pointing that out anti-Indian?

Foxman refers to a "perfect storm". But as in nature, a perfect storm cannot form unless conditions are just right... and this particular storm has the Star of David stamped all over it.

The Ultimate Fighter

Good ole' predictable Blago... He's denying everything. Blagojevich said Friday that he was not guilty, that he is not stepping down as governor, and that he will "fight until I take my last breath."

The idiot has been caught red-handed and is arrogant and dumb enough to think he can bullsh*t his way out of this, with a bit of help from his fellow liars and thieves in office and on the bench.

He said he will not step down or resign from office, has "the personal knowledge that I have not done anything wrong," and intends to address the allegations against him in court. He said he expects to be vindicated. What a side-splitter.

Somewhere along the line, somebody said "Bring in the clowns", and sure enough, they're popping up everywhere, all the way from the White house to the State houses.

The poor schmuck... Can't figure out that trying to do illegal things is just as bad as actually doing them.

"I will fight, I will fight, I will fight until I take my last breath," Blagojevich said.

Just wait until he is some big black buck's bitch in the Statesville Correctional Center, Joliet's successor.

That's where he might be taking that "last breath".

They're Prepared... Yeah, Right

According to the Phoenix Business Journal, U.S. Sen. James Inhofe, R-Okla., and U.S. Rep. Brad Sherman, D-Calif., said Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson considered the prospect of civil unrest while he pushed for September's Wall Street bailout – even suggesting martial law might be essential.

Arizona Gov. Janet Napolitano, Barack Obama's pick for secretary of Homeland Security, would not provide comment to the Business Journal on the possibility of civil unrest during economic crisis. But state and local police indicated that they have trained for such an event.

"The Phoenix Police Department is not expecting any civil unrest at this time, but we always train to prepare for any civil unrest issue. We have a Tactical Response Unit that trains continually and has deployed on many occasions for any potential civil unrest issue," Phoenix Police spokesman Andy Hill said.

"We have well established plans in place for such civil unrest," Scottsdale Police spokesman Mark Clark told the Business Journal.

Maricopa County Sheriff Deputy Chief Dave Trombi concurred: "We're prepared."

Hear all that whistling in the dark?

Last month, trends forecaster Gerald Celente told Fox News that America will morph into the first "undeveloped" nation of the world by 2012. He said there will be a tax revolution marked by "food riots, squatter rebellion, tax revolts and job marches." He also said by 2012, the holidays will be more about getting food rather than gifts.

1- TAX REVOLUTION BY 2012. Consider... the Bush administration has already committed seven and one-half trillion dollars to this financial institution bailout. Obama wants to spend another trillion dollars creating short term dead-end temporary jobs. Just imagine the coming tax burden necessary to pay for all that.

2- FOOD RIOTS. We have serious food shortages in many countries right now, caused by - believe it or not - the United States program of corn for ethanol. Obama will expand this incredibly stupid program, putting even greater pressure on the dwindling food supply.

3- SQUATTER REBELLION. Millions of people in homes being foreclosed on - for the second time - with no place to go. They will stay. There will be violence, there will be blood.

4- JOB MARCHES. As more and more our our good jobs are exported overseas, and more and more illegals swarm into take the remaining low-paying but still available menial jobs, there will be "job marches" and they will turn into full-blown riots. More violence, more blood.

If the riots become food riots(the very worst) with armed men in the streets trying to find food for their families, there's not a single police department in the United States prepared for that. The bleak reality is that they would be overwhelmed in minutes.

And the cops say they are prepared for all this. That is whistling in the dark taken to all-new levels. If the federal government puts armed troops into the streets, which side will those troops support? Think long and hard before you answer, because they won't be American troops, they will be foreign troops, UN troops.

Sound totally improbable? Then why are the governments - Both state and federal - worried about it? And making all those plans?

An Old Sage?

WASHINGTON — President Bush shared some bittersweet reflections on Thursday as he looked back fondly on his White House days but regretted his inability to win passage of immigration legislation and to change the tone of debate in the capital.

Said Bush of himself:
An old sage at 62 ... headed to retirement.
Give me a break.

From Webster's Seventh New Collegiate dictionary:

sage n 1 : one (as a profound philosopher) distinguished for wisdom 2 : a mature or venerable man sound in judgement

If there's anything on this planet that Bush isn't, a sage would be it.

Webster to the rescue:

fool\'ful\ n [ME. fr. OF fol, fr. LL follis 1 : a person lacking in judgement or prudence 2 a : a retainer formerly kept in great households to provide causal entertainment and commonly dressed in motley with cap. bells and bauble. b one who is victimized or made to appear foolish : DUPE 3 a : a harmlessly deranged person or one lacking in common powers of understanding

One thing for certain... Bush the bauble-headed should have used a dictionary more often.

We'll Review Ourselves, Thank You

The Secret Service once again demonstrated their true lack of effectiveness for their primary responsibility, which is to protect the President:
WASHINGTON — Although the Secret Service put everyone who attended President George W. Bush's Baghdad news conference through several layers of security Sunday, the agency appeared to be caught off guard when an Iraqi journalist hurled his shoes at the president.

"We'll be our own harshest critic regarding this incident" Secret Service spokesman Ed Donovan said Monday, "and we'll make any appropriate changes to security."
Those two shoes could have easily been IED's, such as homemade hand grenades designed to avoid detection (plastic casings to defeat metal detectors, for example) and the SS would have had another Kennedy or Reagan to explain.

Remember this guy?

Fancy automatic weapon, really cool shades, tough macho demeanor, snazzy state-of-the-art communication headset, all manner of specialized training, not doubt authorized to kill... what help would he - and all his buds - have been? My guess would have been... none.

And yet, they have the cajones to say they will make any "appropriate changes" necessary. HUH? Could you repeat that?

What we need is an independent panel of security experts examine what the SS is doing wrong, what fatal flaws are in their operational mindsets, what management miscalculations and errors could be actually endangering a president, or if they can actually prevent a well-planned attack against a president.

They may be tasked with an impossible job, considering how hated the United States and it leaders are worldwide today. However, when push comes to shove, they have a crummy track record. Something is not right... We need to find out what.

Perhaps the only solution at this time is to cloister the president in bomb-proof rooms and prevent any public exposure. If that's what needs to be done, then the Secret Service may just be another huge waste of taxpayers money.

Or maybe they should just stop a stupid president from going to a country that is nothing more than a giant armed camp, a place where half the population hates his guts, and has repeatedly shown they will die to destroy their enemies.

Whatever... Looks like Bush's legacy will now be all about being able to duck a shoe or two... And how lucky he was that they weren't grenades.

The Big Plan

Finally got some real detail from Obama on his save the economy/planet plan:

He's going to create 2.5 million new jobs to rebuild-retrofit government buildings across America to be more energy efficient.

Aiding him in this task will be nobel-prize winning physicist Steven Chu, who got his nobel prize for research into ways to cool and trap atoms using laser light.

Yessir, that's putting science on the team... we have all been sorely perplexed with the problem of trapping all those overheated atoms with our laser pointers. Some of those overheated atoms have been melting our glaciers! And we want to use lasers because well, they're cool, dude... and really, really energy efficient.

Oh, Sob...

The sky is falling on the Princes of the world:
Dec. 14 (Bloomberg) -- Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, Citigroup Inc.’s largest individual investor, lost 19 percent of his personal wealth in the past year as the global economic slump reduced the value of banking and property assets, according to Arabian Business.
His photo below, the photo of a man who has been making your life much harder.

Geez... this oil-soaked robber baron is losing money... Cry me a freaking river.

Playboy being "Born Again"?

Playboy's Mexican issue has a cover featuring model Maria Florencia Onori posing in a white cloth, standing next to a stained glass window

Its headline reads in Spanish: "We adore you, Mary."

Headlines everywhere are screaming about the "nude virgin Mary".

I ask you... does this model look nude? She's showing far less skin that the average woman on the street in downtown America... or just about any woman in Hollywood.

Any Frederick's of Hollywood store display in any American mall makes this gal look overdressed. Even the Sears catalog has pages and pages of models showing more skin than Maria does here.

Yes, it is suggestive of a religious theme and intended to yank the chain of the easily offended religionist. In that, it did it's job beyond expectations.

So just how many churches or good Christan homes will this Mexican edition of Playboy end up in? It is the Mexican edition, and if you watch any Mexican TV channel you'll soon discover that the Mexicans love to parade scantily clad women about, the more the merrier, the sexier the better.

Storm in a teacup sort of thing.

Going Down The Drain

Obama has no interest in the space program:
CAPE CANAVERAL – NASA administrator Mike Griffin is not cooperating with President-elect Barack Obama’s transition team, is obstructing its efforts to get information and has told its leader that she is “not qualified” to judge his rocket program, the Orlando Sentinel has learned.

In a heated 40-minute conversation last week with Lori Garver, a former NASA associate administrator who heads the space transition team, a red-faced Griffin demanded to speak directly to Obama, according to witnesses.
Let's take a look at Obama's transition team leader, Lori Garver. If you read all that stuff, you will see see has a lot of bureaucratic experience, tons of power-point presentations, all manner of awards for chit-chat on various subjects, but precious little - if any - engineering background or experience.

This woman does indeed come with a long list of impressive sounding qualifications. But completely lacking is any indication she can evaluate any actual program, so it looks like Mike Griffin is correct. She is - sadly - just another highly educated paper-shuffler that has wrangled a job she has no qualifications for.

Watch Obama support this woman. Watch Obama replace Griffin. Watch the Constellation program go down the drain. Watch NASA fade into history.

You all ready know about Kerry and the Clinton's - particularly Hillary - and their total lack of support for anything scientific or space related. Well, guess who was their "Space policy advisor"? A woman who hates NASA.... read on.

Yep... Lori Garver. The woman who once tried to get a sponsored ride for a trip to space aboard the Russian Soyuz vehicle to the International Space Station. She even began the initial medical certification and training in Russia. Remember , she worked for NASA from 1998 to 2001, left in 2001 and started her quest for a sponsored Soyuz ride.

In short, she quit her NASA job and went begging to a private sponsor and the Russians for a space ride. One must imagine her resentment to NASA for not giving her the desired free ride. And now Obama has her evaluating NASA programs.

What's wrong with that picture? Can you start to understand why Griffin is so upset? Why he wanted to speak to Obama directly, and not through this vindictive little wanna-be space bunny?

Will Blago Take The Hit Alone?

The feds have the Illinois governor firmly by the family jewels. All indications are he's going down... and out. The feds, The state AG, the state Legislature, the state population in general, want him gone, not later, but now.

Good old light-giving snowwhite-pure president-elect Barack Hussein has publicly called for Blago's resignation, and stated that neither he nor any member of his staff ever, ever talked to Blago about the ongoing senate seat auction, even though one of his senior staff members had stated such conversations had indeed taken place. Today the Obama staff is claiming that statement to be "misspoken". Interesting how an inconvenient truth turns out to be a misspoken statement.

All this just about kills any chance that Blago will ever get his wish to run for president in 2016. Politically, this man is dead meat.

So up pops the question: Will Blago take the fall alone? Particularly since Obama has just thrown him under the bus?

Take a close look at the man. Does he look - or act - like a martyr? Or does he act like a man who will take as many of his cohorts with him when he goes?

Does he even have the small measure of self-respect and moral courage shown by Nixon, who resigned when threatened with impleachment over Watergate? Don't think so... He's more like Bill Clinton.

More popcorn please.

Here She Comes...

It was inevitable:
A BOFFIN too busy to find real love has INVENTED his idea of the perfect woman – a
female ROBOT
.

Inventor Le Trung, 33, created Aiko, said to be “in her 20s” with a stunning 32, 23, 33 figure, shiny hair and delicate features.

She even remembers his favourite drink and does simple cleaning and household tasks.
Wow, that's way beyond the abilities of many modern American women today, who have taken the "I don't do windows" mantra to all-new heights.

Said Le Trung:
He did not build Aiko as a sexual partner, but said she could be tweaked to become one. Her software could be redesigned to simulate her having an orgasm and reacting to touch as if she is playing hard to get or being straight to the point.
Hmmm. If these guys, (WARNING... 100% sexual content) who manufacture made-for-sex lifesize and lifelife dolls get together with Le Trung, it's all over for the modern feminist and her chances of ever getting another free meal or evening out, and totally eliminating her need to ever go to college... you know, to grab some poor shmuck working on his engineering degree.

Watch for the upcoming activity from the likes of Barbara Boxer and Nancy Pelosi, who will attempt to outlaw these pliable playmates. Of course, Hillary will be on the other team and will support the manufacture of several different models... to aid in keeping hubby home and happy.

Welcome to our brave new world, where the war of the sexes will become a war of woman against robot. A possible new slogan:
Men are from Mars, women are from Mattell.
We observers of the human comedy are gonna need a lot of popcorn.

If you think this is all a big joke, go look at real dolls face 14. How many real women look like that?

Another Governor Falls

There is not much left to say about this, the national media is eating it alive:
Gov. Rod Blagojevich and his chief of staff, John Harris, were arrested by FBI agents on federal corruption charges Tuesday morning.

Blagojevich and Harris were arrested simultaneously at their homes at about 6:15 a.m., according to Frank Bochte of the FBI. Both were transported to FBI headquarters in Chicago.
What the blogs are loaded with is the upcoming connections soon to be exposed between Obama and these guys.

Make some popcorn and sit back... This is going to be fun. The Obots are going to freeze up like the tinman in the Wizard of Oz, except that Dorothy and Toto are nowhere in sight with that handy can of oil.

Governor Rod Blagojevich, Tony Rezko, Harris, Obama... All with their hands in this up to their armpits. This? What this? Try a place called Mercy hospital - in Chicago - for starters.

Pass the butter and salt.

A Bit More Up-To-Date

Below is the temperature chart from GISS that the global warmers are using to scare us all.

Yep, just look at that rise. However, the chart is almost a decade old. The more recent chart below shows a different story:

This second plot - from the same place, GISS - shows that the temperature increase peaked in 2006 and is now trending downwards, and is already down to the 2000 levels.

The top chart shows a .6 degree C rise from the stable temperature period of the 50's, 60's and 70's, to 2000.

The middle chart has the latest data available and shows a .4 degree C rise from 2000 to 2006, the peak period, and a much more rapid drop of .4 degrees C from 2006 to now.

This last chart is a plot showing global temperature versus sunspot activity. Although it does not go to 2000, or 2008, it does plot the correlation between the two from 1860 to 1980. Note the large 1940 peak on both the top and bottom plots, and the downward trend of sunspot activity after the 1940 peak, which is reflected in the stable temperature period of 50's through the 70's.

I would like to find more recent sunspot/temperature correlation data, but so far no luck.

To me, this data indicates we are going through a normal cycle of warming and cooling, a repeating cycle generated by solar activity, something not under the control of mankind. To irresponsibly blame it on human generated emissions is bogus.

This sort of readily available data is one reason why I think Al gore and his army of alarmists are wrong... and should be ignored.

Internet Might Have Stopped Hitler?

Nobel literature prize winner Jean-Marie Gustave Le Clezio said Sunday:
Who knows, if the Internet had existed at the time, perhaps Hitler's criminal plot would not have succeeded - ridicule might have prevented it from ever seeing the light of day.
Well, we can only judge that by past experience. Hitler caused war and suffering that lasted six years. Bush has caused war and suffering that has lasted much longer than that, and we had the Internet up and running long before Bush and his neocon buddies hatched their WMD plot.

The thing about criminal plots... they stay hidden until they are sprung on people... by then it's usually to late to prevent them.

Another point: Endless ridicule has not slowed Bush down in any detectable way.

The Internet may be widespread and used by millions and millions of people, but it has no power to match the might of the federal government.

Don't Buy Any More Ammo

President-elect Obama says so:
As gun sales shoot up around the country, President-elect Barack Obama said Sunday that gun-owning Americans do not need to rush out and stock up before he is sworn in next month.
As the article says, it's not what he's been saying about gun control, but about what his track record shows:
Prior to his campaign for president, his record as a state legislator and as a U.S. Senator shows he voted for the most stringent forms of gun control, the most Draconian legislation, gun bans, ammunition bans and even an increase in federal excise taxes up to 500 percent for every gun and firearm sold.

Obama answered "yes" in 1996 to a questionnaire from an Illinois group on whether he supported a handgun ban. But he later said a staffer filled out that answer and he did not support a ban.
Actions speak louder than words, and that's most likely why:
Nationally, background checks for gun purchases jumped nearly 49 percent during the week Obama was elected, compared with the same time period last year, according to the FBI's National Instant Background Check System.
If ever there was a man who should not be listened to, it's Barack Obama. Very little of what he said on the campaign trail is surviving the reality of his upcoming presidency.

"Falling Off A Cliff"

Forget the governmental "jobs lost" figures, they don't reflect the real problem. Far more accurate is the ratio of employed Americans to the adult population. And it's terrible.

The chart above shows the employment-population ratio, the ratio of employed Americans to the adult population. By this measure it’s been a weak economy all along — and now it’s falling off a cliff.

According to that chart, four out of every ten adult Americans are out of work. Works out to a 40% unemployment rate, not the 6.5% or whatever the government is harping. Of that 40%, I wonder how many lost their jobs to illegals?

The Rules Are For You And Me - Not Her

Or so this woman seems to be saying:

The regional director of Homeland Security, Customs, and Border Protection was charged today with repeatedly hiring illegal immigrants to clean her Salem home after one cleaner wore a wire during an undercover investigation.
Lorraine Henderson is the director of the Port of Boston, overseeing 190 armed federal officers who patrol major airports and shipping terminals in Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island.

"She’s supposed to be deporting aliens, not hiring them," said Assistant US Attorney Brian T. Kelly, chief of the public corruption unit.
Perhaps making an example of this idiot would help other government payrollees see fit to do their jobs a bit better.

But don't bet on it... they all consider themselves above the law.

Print Your Own Money

Think it's silly? Or illegal? Read on:
Residents from the Milwaukee neighborhoods of Riverwest and East Side are scheduled to meet Wednesday to discuss printing their own money. The idea is that the local cash could be used at neighborhood stores and businesses, thus encouraging local spending.
Believe it or not, it's not illegal.
It's not a new concept—experts estimate there are at least 2,000 local currencies all over the world—but it is a practice that tends to burgeon during economic downturns. During the Great Depression, scores of communities relied on their own currencies.
As long as communities don't create coins, or print bills that resemble federal dollars, organizations are free to produce their own currency.

At the same time they are telling the Federal Reserve - A privately owned corporation - to stuff it.

What a fascinating concept.

War, War, And More War

The IDF(Israeli Defense force) is drawing up options for a strike on Iranian nuclear facilities that do not include coordination with the United States, The Jerusalem Post has learned.

That's both good news and bad news.

The good part is that the less the United states has to do with Israel's endless warmongering to protect themselves from the previous owners of the lands they now occupy, the better it is for us.

The bad part is that yet another Israeli "preemptive" attack will put us all that much closer to a world-wide confrontation. Too many Americans are failing to grasp the fact that Russia supports the Muslims and the Arabs in this fight over who owns what, and that Russia is rapidly regaining it's financial, military and political strength - while we are squandering ours - protecting Israel from it's Arab enemies.

The modern state of Israel could not have been created without massive support from the United States Federal government. It cannot continue to exist without massive - and endless - American support. That is reality. Israel simply does not have the industrial, financial or military capability to realistically support itself. That kind of support must - and does - come from America. So, the more America sinks into financial ruin, industrial disaster and toothless political influence, the more Israel's long term survival prospects melt away.

The erroneous belief that because the Jews now occupy these contested areas makes it a done deal is fatally flawed thinking, as flawed as believing Hitler's occupation of Paris made France a German territory. This is an on-going war that is far from over, and will one day be settled with however a large a war is ultimately required to eject today's Jewish occupiers out of these areas, or destroy those Arab States and populations that challenge the Jews and their occupation. As Russia regains it's position in world affairs, it becomes less and less inclined to allow it's Arab allies to be the victims in all this, and that's where the real danger lies. And where does China come down on this issue?

Contending that the area belongs to the Jews because of some claims of ownership three or four thousand years old is nonsensical. Imagine giving back all of New England to the Indians because of their far more recent claims of ownership, and yes, the Indians are tossing religion into the mix... It was/is "sacred" land.

However, recently the Jews and their American supporters are going into the "there was a war and we won" mantra, rather than the "God gave us the land for all eternity" sort of claim, which has been losing ground for some time as a justifier for their conduct.

Why? Because Conquest by war makes a far better argument than who owned what three of four thousand years ago, something that is important only to today's Jewish religious fanatic and his supporters, but nothing more than a point of historical interest to everyone else.

In the case of this particular land dispute, "everyone else" is the entire world, less the United States and England, two nations that were once uncontested world powers, but now fading into political and military mediocrity.

One must wonder what rising world power the Jews will hook the survival of Israel onto next in this apparently endless saga.

United States Capitol Visitor Center

The new United States Capitol Visitor Center is finally up and running.

Years late and hundreds of millions over budget, it is now open to a select number of visitors(those with permits) during normal working hours of the federal government, or about three weeks a year.

I do recall seeing a photo if it some years ago during it's initial construction phases. Looked like they were digging a hole to China, far deeper than required for just an underground visitor center. According to news releases, the center consists of three under-ground levels: a balcony level entrance, the Emancipation Hall (second) level and a third restricted level for new Congressional offices and meeting rooms.

Third restricted level... you bet.

My money is on the idea that this "third restricted level" is another congressional shelter like the one they had under that hotel, the posh Greenbrier hotel in White Sulphur Springs, W. Va., with the same massive blast doors, emergency supplies of all manner, kitchens, bunks, Private rooms to play with the pages, you know... the usual stuff we provide for our fine national representatives.

Obviously, this place will not protect anybody from a direct nuclear hit on Washington, so this new shelter must be to protect Congress from us, perhaps in the event of a rebellion, where angry Americans might just be running around loose in Washington looking for those crooks, thieves and traitors that have been selling us, our jobs, and our futures down the river for years.

Hope they have a lot of food and water stored down in there. And showers - lots of showers - Harry Reid has a sensitive nose.

Damn Stinking Tourists

House majority leader Reid:
My staff tells me not to say this, but I'm going to say it anyway. In the summer because of the heat and high humidity, you could literally smell the tourists coming into the Capitol. It may be descriptive but it's true.
Can't have that... Next thing they'll want to do is close the building to the public so we won't offend their sensitive little noses.

Actually, most of those government types those huge racially and religiously identifable noses, so maybe that's why we all stink... at least to them.
